What I found the MOST surprising about mine was that my reflections/comparisons almost amplified when I came home. Now, I am no stranger to re-entry shock, but this time around it felt different. Living in a developing country changes you from your core. It's inescapable and beautiful. I feel as if I have grown in my understanding of third world ways of doing things (positive, negative, and some, just different!) through the experiences of my 2 children in Asia, though much less than you who are actually there.
